A group of environmental science students took part in a workshop on traditional earth construction techniques in the village of Oettern. The workshop was overseen by the local craftsman Norbert Ungethüm who supervised and guided the students in preparing the construction materials, constructing a wall following the wattle and daub technique and replastering an existing wall with a new earthen plaster. This workshop formed part of the module Klima, Gesellschaft, Energie (Climate, Society, Energy) offered every summer by the Urban Energy Systems team.
