Report "Hydrogen in Thuringia" presented at the annual ThEGA-Forum

Prof. Dr. Mark Jentsch presented the key findings of the newly published report “Hydrogen in Thuringia” as first speaker after the opening remarks at the plenary session of the annual forum of the Thüringer Energie- und GreenTech Agentur (ThEGA).

The 8th ThEGA-Forum in Weimar, which was attended by about 350 delegates, dealt with implementing energy efficiency and climate protection measures in Thuringia. As hydrogen technologies are considered an important step towards meeting Thuringia’s climate targets, the ThEGA had contracted the Energy Systems team at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to compile a report on the present situation, the potentials and the options for implementing the hydrogen economy in Thuringia. This report, which also highlights strategic courses of action, was presented in detail to the public at the forum.

It is hoped that the report will help to inform the strategic development of hydrogen technologies within the Free State of Thuringia such as the implementation of a green hydrogen rail system in the Thuringian Forest that was proposed by the group in a previous study.
