Markus Boden wins IT young talent competition
As part of the world's leading trade fair "BAU 2025" in Munich, young talents from the construction industry were honored by the RKW Competence Center on January 14, 2025. One of the award winners is Markus Boden, research assistant at the Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. He impressed the jury with a free digitalization check for small and medium-sized companies in the construction industry and won first place in the category "Construction Management.
Markus Boden completed his studies in Management for Construction, Real Estate and Infrastructure at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. In his master's thesis, he developed a free tool that provides small and medium-sized enterprises and public organizations with step-by-step support in the digitalization of their processes. The tool is based on an online questionnaire that identifies optimization potential and illustrates the degree of digitalization using a traffic light system.
The prizewinner is a research assistant at the Chair of Construction Engineering and Management and at the Chair of Transport System Planning and works at the EDIH within this framework. The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar supports female entrepreneurs in their digital transformation. As part of a European network, it offers further training, exchange opportunities and advice on financing and business models in areas such as mobility and logistics, IT infrastructure and software, construction, energy and resources, tourism, industrial production and health.
