BBV @ BAU trade fair 2025 in Munich

From January 13 to 17, 2025, professors and staff from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Bauhaus Academy of Continuing Education presented how the next generation of engineers will be prepared for challenges in the fields of construction, real estate, infrastructure and the environment.

In 2025, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar presented itself for the first time with its own stand in the trade fair's Innovation Hub in Hall A4.

As part of the research activities at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, drone-based aerial photography, 3D visualizations of buildings, robot-assisted building monitoring, intelligent building materials and innovative solutions in the areas of climate, energy, waste, resources, water and mobility were on display.

The university's extensive range of courses was also presented. Our professors and staff talked to prospective students, providing information and clarification where needed.

The employees of the Chair of Construction Engineering and Management – including not only Prof. Melzner and all employees but also the four-legged SPOT employee – participated in the stand and supported it throughout the week. In addition, there was also time for visiting the fair in search of exciting impressions.

Markus Boden, research assistant of the Chair of Construction Engineering and Management, won first place in this year's ‘Built on IT’ competition in the field of construction management with his master's thesis on ‘Digitalization on the test bench: Digital Maturity Assessments for BIM in infrastructure’, which was announced at BAU 2025.

In retrospect, the visit to the BAU 2025 trade fair and the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering's own stand can be described as a complete success.
