Two new ifex-members

At the Institute Assembly on 2 December, the two new members Jun.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Antonia Herten and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Herrmann welcomed by the ifex.plenum.

Since the winter semester 2025/2026, Dr.-Ing. Antonia A. Herten has held the Junior Professorship of Project Development and Construction Economics (with Tenure Track). As a bridge professorship, the position links urban planning and architecture-oriented disciplines with the institutions and processes of the property sector. The focus is on economic analysis and the feasibility of structural and spatial solutions.
Also staring from the winter semester 2025/2026, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Herrmann took over the Professorship of Constrcutive Design and Structural Design. The aim of this bridge professorship (Faculties of Civil Engineering and the Environment & Architecture and Urban Studies) is to develop and teach scientifically sound design strategies and tools, particularly in the field of structural development, under the paradigm of energy. The aim is to achieve the closest possible approximation to the requirement of ‘sustainability of buildings’.
