As part of the Bauhaus Spring School 2026, the course "Urban Heat Islands: Understanding the context of climatic, cultural and physical conditions in urban environments" took place at ifex from 16 to 20 March.

As part of the interdisciplinary bauhaus.module “typotopie”, led by Prof. Dr. Michael Herrmann and Torsten Müller from the Chair of Constructive Design and Structural Design, the university’s exhibition stand for the 2026 Leipzig Book Fair was created during the winter semester of 2025/26.

The new research project, “Liquid Clay: pourable clay as a sustainable solid clay construction method”, will start on 1 April 2026 at the Chair of Structural Design and Structural Engineering.

With their project ‘The Gentle City’, the three IUDD students Dikshya Pokharel, Zhasmin Roumieh and Mareike Steffen have won the special prize for interdisciplinary and sustainable architecture at the 2026 AIV Schinkel Prize.

In the summer semester of 2025, the findings and achievements of the interdisciplinary ‘Bauhaus Energy Hub’ project run by the Professorship of Building Physics were compiled into a book, which is now available in bookshops.

At the international trade fair iENA – Ideas, Inventions, Novelties 2025, bauhaus.ifex received four awards: four patent applications from the Professorship of Structural Design and Structural Engineering were awarded two gold and two silver medals.
