{adiscourse.net} : An Exploration of Discursive Practice and Production

What are the frontiers of architectural and digital spaces and practices in an era of decentralized communication and platform ecologies? Centered around processes and products, {adiscourse.net} looks at the production of discourse through three vectors: networked discursive interface, material production of discourse objects, the human space of engagement. Each build up a new understanding of the architectural as medium design.

Bauhaus.Orbits_Discourse and structure – Experimentation in software and visualization

The Bauhaus Orbits installation is a 360° projection surface – a site-specific Bauhaus 100 project dedicated to critically establishing the Bauhaus less as a visual style, but an intellectual discourse. The form of the installation references the vaults of the historical lecture room at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, while its content is distilled through data science’s and digital humanities’ approach to the historic Bauhaus books, which are granulated into data graphs and visualised as an immaterial world of discourse formation. The project surface, which resembles the skin of a discursive space, was meant to enable tactile navigation.

Threshold

It is common to say that we dwell in a reality obsessed with the image. However, there are things worth saying repeatedly.
If , in the 19th century, Gottfried Semper defined fire as the symbolic and central element of architecture, it is also possible today to remember something more obvious: the body as a whole is also central to architecture, since we perceive all the information that the world gives us through the matrix of meaning that compose us; which make us human.

Silicone Valley. Breaking Techno-Mediated Habits.

This work explores the effects of networked technologies on our sense of self, spatial perception, and social life, through our emergent techno-mediated habits. These include a range of habitual patterns that emerge from our interactions with networked devices and coded spaces; from socially recognizable gestures and personal quirks, to nervous tics and compulsive behaviors. They are explored through a series of speculative devices that challenge or reinvent them.
This project received a Student Notable honor in the 2019 Core77 Design Awards.

This is (not) Media Architecture

Media Architecture is considered a rather novel phenomenon that interconnects media and architecture in manifold ways. It is a field that encompasses quite diverse projects; yet due to its ambiguous nature, it is rather difficult to define. Therefore, the master thesis, instead of providing a definition, aims to find the core elements of Media Architecture to provide a more holistic approach to the field.

Architecture for Change

The aim of the project is to face the ever growing polarization of views and opinions in the society, and to transform the public from Media consumers into free thinkers, through debates, workshops, exhibitions and different means of expression.
InterACT is a mobile open platform, event-like project, aimed at engaging the public with the plentiful sensitive issues of our time.

Fernweh - Travelogues in a Self-Driving Car

With the advancements in technology and the consequent urban challenges arising out of vehicular traffic, pollution and reduced mobility, the development of self-driving cars has gained a great impetus in the last few years, and we are not far from a day where self-driving cars will become a part of our day to day travel experiences. This has also opend up several opportunities for designign a more human centric, immersive experience during travel in these autonomous vehicles.
