Student Employees Council

The Student Employees Council was established at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in 2020 in accordance with the Thuringian Employee Representation Act (Thüringer Personalvertretungsgesetz). The Council consists of three student employee representatives who are elected annually. The third legislative period began on 1 October 2022, but without anyone elected to office.

The primary responsibility of the Student Employees Council is representing the interests of student employees at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. To fulfil this task, one of our members attends Staff Council (Personalrat) meeings and has a right to vote on topics that concern student employees. We also work closely with the Human Resources (Dezernat Personal), which is responsible for the contracts of the student employees, among other things.

Da der Assistent*innenrat seit nunmehr drei Jahren unbesetzt war, sind wir momentan in erster Linie damit beschäftigt, uns einzuarbeiten und uns innerhalb und außerhalb der Universität neu zu vernetzen.

Das Thema, das uns inhaltlich zur Zeit am meisten beschäftigt, ist das Wegfallen der Mehrzahl der Stellen für Assistent*innen, aufgrund der Kürzungen im Haushalt der Universität.
