summaery2026 – Annual Exhibition of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

»summaery2026« was once again a vibrant gathering place for prospective students, alumni, university staff and guests. Around 5,000 people attended the annual exhibition, gained insights into current projects, explored exhibitions and events, and celebrated the end of the academic year together with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Four days packed with exhibitions, events, encounters and special moments: our photographers Thomas Müller and Matthias Eckert have captured the atmosphere of »summaery2026.« We hope you enjoy exploring the photos!

Welcome!

For the annual exhibition summaery2026 from 9 to 12 July, students and faculty of the university will present their work, ideas, and discourses on campus as well as inside and outside the city. The motto »prompt‽« conceptually developed by the leading Faculty of Media, forms the thematic framework.

The motto

For us, »Prompt‽« is more than just a technical term. A prompt is an impulse, a question, a catalyst. It represents the dialogue between humans and AI and how ideas give rise to texts, images, or entirely new perspectives.

The interrobang »‽« combines a question and an exclamation. It represents curiosity, surprise, and the desire to rediscover things. We see summaery2026 as situated right between asking questions and seeking answers.

A design for »Prompt‽«

How does a motto become a visual concept? The visual identity of summaery2026 was created by Ames Grund, Hannes Altmann and August Guccione. In an interview with Luise Ziegler, the three visual communication students explain how the motto »Prompt‽« evolved into a visual identity and what ideas guided them along the way.

Once a year – at the »summaery« – the results of the projects from the current academic year are presented. But what actually happens before the exhibitions are ready? Where do the ideas come from and how does a project like this develop?

Behind the scenes, more than 20 students from 10 projects share their progress and setbacks with us – live in progress …
