On 17 and 18 April, student from the Medienmanagement (Media Management) Master’s degree programme took part in the »Medientage Mitteldeutschland« (central Germany media days) in Leipzig as part of the »MTM-Pioneers« young talent programme. Together with Prof. Dr. Jutta Emes (Professorship of Marketing and Media), Jr. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Rösch and Maxi Rauch (scientific employee in the Junior Professorship of Digital Economies), and Dr. Gianna Ehrlich (Deputy Director of the Junior Professorship for Organisation and Networked Media) attended the exciting panel discussions on topics such as AI, fake news and public broadcasting on both days of the event.

At nearly 30 percent, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has a higher than average proportion of international students. Some of these students stay in Thuringia and join the workforce, but this is by no mean the majority. Just one third are successful in starting a career in Germany, specifically in Thuringia. In order to increase these numbers and integrate more international graduates into the local and national job market, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be receiving over one million euros in funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) »FIT - Promoting Academic Success and Labour Market Integration of International Talents« programme.

Vom 18. bis 19. April 2024 veranstaltet das bauhaus.institut für experimentelle Architektur (bauhaus.ifex) das XXIV. Modellprojekteforum »Reflective Urban Practice«. 17 Studierende und acht Praxispartner des internationalen Masterstudiengangs »Integrated Urban Development and Design« (IUDD) stellen an zwei Tagen aktuelle Projekte der Stadtentwicklung aus Praxis und Forschung im Oberlichtsaal der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar vor.

Vom 14. bis 23. März nehmen 171 Studierende der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und ihrer europäischen Partneruniversitäten an der dritten Bauhaus Spring School teil. In acht Kursen zu den Themen Architektur und Urbanistik, Kunst und Gestaltung, Medien und Kultur sowie Technik und Umwelt haben die Teilnehmenden die Möglichkeit, zum kreativen Zusammenarbeiten und interkulturellen Vernetzen. Das internationale Kurzzeitprogramm startete bereits im Januar 2024 mit Online-Kursen und wird nun mit einer neuntägigen Präsenzphase in Weimar fortgesetzt.

Studierende der Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik zeigen im Hauptgebäude und in den Kuben die Ergebnisse aus ihren Entwurfs-, Forschungs- und Lehrprojekten des Wintersemesters 2023/24 bei der »go4spring«. Fotograf Thomas Müller hat die Eröffnungsveranstaltung am 8. Februar 2024 begleitet und dokumentiert. Interessierte können die Ausstellung noch bis Sonntag, 11. Februar 2024, erkunden (Öffnungszeiten: Freitag: 12 bis 18 Uhr, Samstag/Sonntag: 12 bis 16 Uhr).

At the end of the 2023/24 winter semester, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is inviting interested parties to attend its »go4spring« semester exhibition. In and around the Main Building from 8 to 11 February 2024, students will be shining a spotlight on their semester projects.

Dafür gestaltet der Fachbereich Medieninformatik vier interaktive Workshops, bei denen die Teilnehmer*innen aktuelle Themen aus Forschung und Lehre in den Laboren erfahren und testen können. Der Schnuppertag findet von 9 bis 12.30 Uhr auf dem Übergangscampus der Fakultät Medien in der Schwanseestraße 143 statt.

For prospective students, portfolio consultations are offered in the artistic degree programmes, which can be attended without prior registration.

IGS INGENIEURE entwickelt gemeinsam mit den Auftraggebern zukunftsorientierte Lösungen in den verschiedensten Bereichen des Bauingenieurwesens. Im Rahmen der einBlick-Vortragsreihe illustrieren die Referent*innen M. Sc. Constanze Matthus, Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Münch und Dr.-Ing. Christiane Ost anhand ausgewählter Praxisbeispiele, wie komplexe Brückenbauwerke in Deutschland geplant und umgesetzt werden. Interessierte sind herzlich am Donnerstag, den 18. Januar 2024 um 17 Uhr in die Marienstraße 13, Hörsaal B, eingeladen.
