Application requirements
The binational Bachelor’s degree programme is completed with a double degree from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Université Lumière Lyon 2.
Please note that you will have to go through only one selection procedure in order to join the programme.
You can enrol in the 1st semester of each winter semester. It is not possible to start studying in the summer semester.
Application deadline for the winter semester 2024/25: July 15, 2024.
The selection interviews will take place on 23 and 24 July, 2024.

Application
Please submit the following documents to participate in the selection procedure:
- a printed copy of the online application form for the study programme European Media Culture (Europäische Medienkultur EMK)
- a CV in tabular form (please upload it as PDF file to the online portal)
- a verified copy of your high-school diploma or a qualification recognized as equivalent by competent authorities
- a letter of motivation of about 2 pages (DIN A4 format) in French (please upload it as PDF file to the online portal)

Letter of motivation
Please let us know about the following criteria (amongst others) in your letter of motivation:
- the specific reason for your wish and aspiration to study this programme at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Université Lumière Lyon 2
- your relation to media / Media Studies (What do you find interesting about the subject of media? What do you may already know about it and what do you expect from the programme?)
- a description of adequate professional goals related to the programme

Selection interview
The interviews will take place on July 25 and 26, 2023.
We will send invitations to the selection interviews by email a few days after the application deadline. The interviews will take place on site at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
We send out invitations to the selection interviews by e-mail about a week after the application deadline. If possible, the interviews will take place on site at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.The approximately 20-minute interviews are conducted in German and French and serve to give us an idea of your media and language skills.
After the selection interviews have been held, we will send you a written notification letting you know whether we can offer you a place in our programme European Media Culture. Notwithstanding, you can enrol in the programme Media Culture (B. A.) alternatively.
