Symmetries of Touch: International Workshop

International Workshop, 5-7 Oktober 2016, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Oberlichtsaal, Hauptgebäude, Geschwister-Scholl-Str. 8, 99423 Weimar

Zuerst Telefone, dann Fernseher und Computer, heute Smartphones, Tablets und Uhren: Unser alltäglicher Umgang mit Medien ist durch eine bemerkenswerte Konjunktur des Taktilen geprägt. 

Doch nicht nur wir sind es, die die Medien in zunehmendem Maße berühren. Im Gegenzug sind es auch die Medien, die uns anfassen und abtasten – und zwar ebenfalls in erheblich zunehmenden Maße. Gegenwärtig treten wir in eine Gesellschaft von fahrbaren und tragbaren Medien ein, die mit Sensoren geradezu gespickt sind: von Autos über Fitnessarmbänder bis hin zu Brillen und Schuhen.

Diese doppeltseitige Konjunktur des Taktilen fordert dazu heraus, ein neues Bild dessen zu entwerfen, was Medien sind oder gerade im Begriff stehen zu werden.
