Deliberate deception and plagiarism in the context of written coursework and theses violate the Code of Ethics and the binding rules of scientific research and are research and must be penalised with a grade of »fail«. This does not require additional expert reports. It is sufficient for a reviewer to identify plagiarism. The extent of the of the deception and the not clearly recognised use of third-party intellectual property is incidentally irrelevant. The reworking of the previous topic is excluded. The previous supervision constellation can, but does not have to be continued.

Excerpt from the minutes of April 12, 2023, on the subject of »Bauhaus.modules«

Since there are currently some misunderstandings and queries regarding the Bauhaus.modules, the chairman has kuz presented the problems concerning the Bauhaus.modules. It is important to the examination board to maintain the scientific structures and standards of the study program, but also to allow flexible course attendance for students. The examination board comes to the conclusion that Bauhaus modules can only be taken as an alternative to work modules or study modules of choice. This results in a credit possibility of up to 24 LP. ln the MA Media Science, there is basically no crediting of achievements outside the curriculum or in the context of a semester abroad, i.e. also no recognition and rebooking of Bauhaus modules. This regulation has been agreed upon with the program spokesperson and is communicated to the students on the module exchange, among other places. At the same time, the student advisor will be informed about this new binding regulation.

Learning Agreement

The Learning Agreement is a contract between you, your faculty at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the host faculty or university. In it, you agree which credit-bearing study achievements you want to complete abroad and to what extent. The host university thereby declares that your study plan (with or without changes) is feasible. Please complete the Online Learning Agreement before you start your stay abroad.
