Teambuilding in Jena - Hiking Excursion of the Chair

On Thursday, June 19, the staff of the Chair of Resource Management exchanged their desks and seminar rooms for hiking boots and backpacks. On the agenda: a joint hiking day in Jena.

The 12-kilometer route began in the Jena district of Wöllnitz and led through the picturesque Pennickental. A short detour by a few colleagues to a nearby waterfall added a sense of adventure and resulted in a few wet shoes, which, given the warm summer temperatures, were a welcome refreshment.

At the Fürstenbrunnen, the group took a short break before continuing along the Mittlere Horizontale trail toward the viewpoint known as Diebeskrippe. Along this path, the team was rewarded with an impressive, far-reaching view over Jena and the Saale Valley.

This panorama reached its peak at the Ernst-Haeckel-Höhe, where there was another pause to enjoy the scenery before beginning the descent back to Wöllnitz.

The day concluded in a relaxed atmosphere at the Biergarten am Wehr. With view at the Saale River and a cold drink in hand, the group ended the sunny excursion in good spirits.
