AG Textilien at the Sustainability Conference in Apolda
In the historic Eiermannbau in Apolda, numerous stakeholders from the textile industry came together to exchange ideas as part of the Sustainability Conference. The first day of the conference was dedicated to networking and visiting various local institutions. The newly established AG Textilien of the Chair for Resource Management also took advantage of this opportunity to establish contacts and gain insights.
For the team the day began with a guided tour of the Thüringisches Institut für Textil- und Kunststoff-Forschung (TITK) in Rudolstadt. Following this, the official opening event took place at the Eiermannbau in Apolda. The next day, Melanie Börmel and Dr. Andrea Lück contributed to the conference topics with a presentation. Key aspects of their input included the analysis of textile waste generation and its current management in Thuringia, the development of business models as a communication framework for a circular textile economy, and an analysis of relevant stakeholders in the textile industry to address future challenges.
