MDR broadcast regarding the FlyHy project
On August 30, 2023, an artice on the helicopter drone developed as part of the FlyHy research project was broadcast in the MDR Thüringen Journal.
After two years of joint research work, the time had finally come for the hydrogen-powered helicopter drone developed in the joint project FlyHy to be tested for its function at project partner edm aerotec. This was undertaken in the presence of the MDR. All components worked flawlessly together. The drone was, however, not allowed to take off, as this would require an extensive approval procedure. In the project, which was coordinated by the Chair of Energy Systems, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar contributed the hydrogen supply system and integrated the hydrogen fuel cell into the drone.
