

First Thuringian Hydrogen Conference held in Erfurt
The Thuringian Ministry of Environment, Energy and Nature Conservation held its first Hydrogen Conference in Erfurt with 200 delegates from Thuringian industry, science and technology, utilities companies and local authorities. Prof. Dr. Mark Jentsch gave a keynote talk on hydrogen infrastructure systems in Thuringia after which a press conference followed with the Minister Anja Siegesmund, the head of the Thuringian Energy and Greentech Agency Prof. Dr. Dieter Sell and the Vice President of MAXIMATOR GmbH René Himmelstein.
In the afternoon team member Sebastian Büttner gave a talk presenting the work of the Urban Energy Systems research group on the feasibility of implementing hydrogen trains on train tracks in Thuringia which has already resulted in a test drive in February 2019 between Rottenbach and Katzhütte in the Thuringian Forest.
