The excursion supplements the lecture units on the topics of communal heat supply. It enabled the students to take a look at a real plant in operation. In addition, the employees of Stadtwerke Weimar Stadtversorgungs-GmbH also gave the students an insight into the current plans for transforming the heat supply system in Weimar towards renewable energies.
