Representatives from the Hörmann KG took the time to explain their reasons for the technical switch to partially using hydrogen for generating heat with the help of two CHP units for their production process. They discussed the associated opportunities and challenges, as well as initial experiences of operating the electrolyser.

The excursion enabled the students to inspect an electrolysis plant, an H₂ storage facility and the use of hydrogen for thermal energy provision.
