"Devising our energy future" - Inaugural lecture by Prof. Dr. Mark Jentsch

Two and a half years after his appointment as Endowed Professor for "Energy Systems", Prof. Jentsch invited guests to the inaugural lecture in the Audimax of Bauhaus University Weimar on 11 May 2022. Around 100 guests from business, science and politics paid tribute to Prof. Jentsch's forward-looking work in the field of hydrogen production and use for a comprehensive energy and mobility turnaround.

Sustainable infrastructure systems with green hydrogen in Weimar

In the future public transportation and refuse collection vehicles in Weimar will be powered by green hydrogen. The Energy Systems team made a significant contribution to this. As early as 2020, the group supported the Kommunalservice Weimar in applying for a hydrogen-powered garbage truck.

h2-well selected for further funding

Following the successful presentation of the advanced concept of the project in January 2022 h2-well was finally selected for further funding by the steering committee of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Presentation at the ThEGA Forum 2021

Saskia Wagner, research assistant at the Chair of Energy Systems, and Bernd Hubner, Chairman of HySon e. V., presented the results of the feasibility study "Wasserstoff-Region Dreiländereck" at the ThEGA Forum in November 2021.

h2-well annual event 2021 looks to the future of the hydrogen economy in Thuringia

Under the motto "Hydrogen.Region.Future - h2-well for the hydrogen turnaround", the annual event of the alliance "h2-well Hydrogen Source and Value Creation Region Main-Elbe-LINK", funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, took place in Sonneberg in southern Thuringia on 30th September 2021. At the event, organised by the Chair of Energy Systems at Bauhaus University Weimar, around 80 stakeholders from industry and science discussed the future prospects of a hydrogen economy in Thuringia and Central Germany.

Thuringia's hydrogen strategy builds on expert report from the Chair of Energy Systems

The Thuringian state government recently adopted the Thuringian Hydrogen Strategy, which was developed under the leadership of the Thuringian Ministry of the Environment. The strategy is based in large part on the expert report prepared by the Energy Systems team in 2019. The state strategy is intended to advance the green hydrogen economy in Thuringia.
