Conference participation in Sofia, Bulgaria: Ontology-based cost management in public infrastructure projects
The Chair of Construction Management and Construction Methods participated in the International Scientific Conference: “Modern Trends and Innovations in Civil Engineering” at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 9–10 October 2025.
Within the framework of the European university alliance Bauhaus4EU, the invitation to the international scientific conference was extended by our partner institution, the Faculty of Structural Engineering at UACEG.
Anna Nast presented the research paper entitled:
“Development of an ontology-based cost-related information and knowledge framework for small-scale public infrastructure projects”
Authors: Anna Nast; Prof. Dr. Jürgen Melzner (Bauhaus-Universität Weimar); Prof. Dr. Christoph Merschbrock (Norwegian University of Science and Technology – NTNU).
The study investigates how cost-management processes in small-scale infrastructure projects can be sustainably improved through the use of an ontology-based system.
The Chair thanks the Bauhaus4EU alliance and UACEG for the well-organised event and the inspiring exchange on the digitalisation of the construction sector.
