Would you like to study in Germany?

Intro.Bauhaus is an interactive German course combined with a try-out study. The target group of the course are students from PASCH schools who are interested in studying in Germany. The main topics of the course are studying, training, career and everyday life at university. The language focus is primarily on communication and the development of oral skills. In the afternoons, you will take part in various workshops and lectures at the Bauhaus University Weimar, giving you the opportunity to get a taste of everyday study life.

Online (10.06-14.06.2024)...

During the online week, you will mainly practise your writing skills. You will write your own texts on the topic of training/studies/professional future during this time. You will meet online in small groups for 3 hours every day. The online phase will also be used to prepare for the trip to Weimar.

... and on site in Weimar (20.06-29.06.2024)

Try-out study:
In the afternoons, you will attend various workshops and lectures and can already gain insights into everyday study life. Furthermore, when visiting the University of Jena and the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena, you will have the opportunity to get to know hundreds of additional degree programmes in all subject areas. There will be a lot of experimenting and trying out. Studying on a trial basis is accompanied by intensive and individual study counselling.

Great social programme:
Outside of the course, you can fully immerse yourself in the German language and exchange ideas with your fellow students. On weekends, you will discover the exciting cities of the region or find yourself in the beautiful nature of the green heart of Germany.

1 week online and 10 days in Weimar (35 lessons of German).
Levels: Beginners with previous knowledge to advanced A2 - C1 (no A1 group!)
Maximum 10 - 15 students per class

Students from PASCH schools who are interested in studying in Germany. Other interested candidates who would like to prepare for studies in Weimar are also welcome to participate.

Requirements:

- German language skills at the level of at least A2 (CEFR).

- For minors: Declaration of consent from parents

The Language Centre of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar offers German language courses throughout the year. The intensive courses in August always are the cherry on top: Our courses are tought by committed and experienced teachers for German as a Foreign Language. They work hard to make every lesson lively, interactive and highly engaging!

After successful completion of the language course, you will receive a certificate of participation issued by the Bauhaus Summer School. It will show the course title, the date and duration of the course, the number of contact hours as well as the main contents and topics.

The course fee with accommodation is 720 €.

The course fee without accommodation is 550 €.

Full scholarship for students from PASCH partner schools of the Bauhaus University Weimar:

Reduced course price including accommodation in the amount of 60 €.
Applications are submitted directly at the school or online.

Curriculum vitae max. 2 pages

Copy of the last school report (only for the partial scholarship Studienbrücke)
Short letter of recommendation from a Goethe-Institut German language teacher (only for the partial Studienbrücke scholarship)

3. Selection Process

All applicants will receive notification about the outcome of the selection process as soon as possible via e-mail. In case of a positive answer you will receive the invoice simultaneously which you will have to pay within 10 days. If applicants fail to do this, places will be given to others on the waiting list.

If you need a VISA, we recommend you to get informed now about the requirements and to make an appointment with the German embassy in your home country.

A maximum of 40 applicants will be selected for the course.
