Crash-Kurs: Creative Skills, Creative Play

Creative Skills, Creative Play - extending playful research methods for art, design, architecture and urban-/ landscapes.

This series of afternoon modules offer practical techniques and processes to enhance your chosen BSS course, while being a fun extra activity to widen your creativity. A series of Bauhaus principled, hands-on workshops using 2-dimensional means to develop analogue and digital pre-existing expertise. Module sessions are timetabled daily, 16:00-20:30 during 26-28 August and include:

• Session 1: DRAW. Enlarging Paul Klee’s idea that drawing is a line going for a walk, you will expand upon your current mark making, methods of perception and drawing application. Testing line, tone, form, templates and your observing impressions to draw.

• Session 2: COLOUR. Experimenting from Anni and Josef Albers’s independent theories of colour perception, learn how to multiply and personalise colour palettes with purpose, anew.

• Session 3: COLLAGE. Inspired by Bauhaus Lyonel Feininger, disseminate visual motifs and review image use and patterns to create 2-dimensional layouts and assemblage with distinct communication.

Completing the full series offers X credits. Participants will walk away with a greater understanding of freshly developed research methods about the use of colour, form, variation, repetition, assemblage and how to draw. Equipping and stretching present skill sets and reconfiguring visual relationships to re-vitalise 2D/3D thinking and making for varying design.

Open to all people interested.
