If you are looking for scholarships for your summer stay in Weimar, there are different options of where and how to apply.

We have put together a list of possible funding opportunities for you. Please note that the overview does not claim to be complete.

In the database of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) you will find different scholarship programmes, both from the DAAD itself as well as from other organisations.

Furthermore, the DAAD offers a scholarship especially for our summer course »Deutsch in Weimar«:

For years, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports the intensive language course »Deutsch in Weimar« at the Bauhaus Summer School. The amount of the scholarship and application deadline vary from country to country.

The deadlines for your application of DAAD may differ from the deadlines of Bauhaus Summer School. As a rule, the applications must be turned in to a DAAD branch office in November (!). You can find detailed information on the DAAD website.

Please also note that the Bauhaus Summer School will not be able to assist with your DAAD application.

There are several online research websites where you can search for possible scholarship programmes. Some of these sites are, for instance:

  • Studyportals Scholarships
Using the search engine of this website, you can browse through numerous scholarship offers worldwide. To specify your search, you can indicate your preferred country of study. From the start page you can also access the ShortCoursesPortal.
On this website you will find a variety of different financing options, from scholarships to loans and grants. You can use the scholarship search engine for a more targeted research.
  • IEFA
This website is a database with a search engine that international students can use to search for scholarships for their studies abroad. You can enter your country of origin and where you are currently studying. In addition, you will find information on further funding options.
  • Institute for International Education | IIE
The Institute is primarily aimed at international applicants from the US and provides detailed information to support the (financial) planning of a stay abroad.

Some universities offer their students (financial) support in planning and carrying out a (short) stay abroad. In some countries there are also organisations that support students by granting scholarships.

Feel free to enquire about possible offers from your home university or your home country.

For some of our courses, we are happy to be able to offer scholarship for which you can apply directly through the Bauhaus Summer School.

Below you will find an overview of the currently available scholarships as well as details on requirements and application deadlines & procedures.

Please note that deadlines and procedures may vary, depending on the scholarship: you have to apply well in advance or you can submit the scholarship application together with your course application.

  • Forecast Engineering: limited number of scholarships including course fee, accommodation, and travel allowance are available provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (project-ID 57571769) and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Faculty of Civil Engineering.
