Violence and cultural heritage are inextricably linked – from colonial archives to memorial sites and monuments. The conference invites researchers and practitioners to rethink the interface between heritage studies and social science research on violence.
Key topics:
Interconnections between experiences of violence and cultural heritage
‘Difficult,’ ‘dark,’ and ‘dissonant heritage’
Professional and social negotiation processes
Critical reception of places and practices of remembrance
Formats:
Lectures, panel discussions, interactive workshops, collaborative formats
Submission:
Abstract (max. 300 words, including title and 3–5 keywords)
