»The Future of the Planet« – Invitation to the Fifth Event of the »BEYOND NOW ⸺ Questions on the Future of Society« Series on 5 June

The diversity of life on our planet is decreasing rapidly; droughts and floods are revealing the dramatic consequences of global warming. In the face of these profound changes, the question arises: What is the future of the Earth – and with it Thuringia – in the anthropocene, the age of humans?

Ingolf Profft, Director of Klimafolgen, Forschung und Versuchswesen at ThüringenForst  Gotha, and Jr. Prof. Dr. Alexandra Toland, Professor of Arts and Research at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar have been invited to the event. Together, they will discuss ecological tipping points, resilient landscapes, and the responsibilities of science and society in the climate crisis. The event will be moderated by Carsten Tesch, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.
