What is the Day of Teaching and Learning?
The Day of Teaching and Learning is a university-wide event that takes place once a year. Workshops, discussion panels and keynote speeches invite all university members and guests to reflect on, discuss and think about teaching and learning at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
When does the Day of Teaching and Learning take place?
The Day of Teaching and Learning will take place on May 29, 2024 from 12:30-18:00.

Where does the Day of Teaching and Learning take place?
The events will take place in Weimar, Nordhausen and online.
The main event locations in Weimar are the university library (Steubenstr. 6, Weimar), the main building (Geschwister-Scholl-Str. 8, Weimar) and the hybrid learning studio (Amalienstr. 13, Weimar).
In Nordhausen, the main venue is the audimax (Weinberghof 4, Nordhausen).

How can I register for the Day of Teaching and Learning?
If you are a member of a Thuringian university, you can register for the Day of Teaching and Learning with your university login via Shibboleth on the Virtual Campus Thuringia. The moodle-based platform allows you to register for the workshops and events you would like to take part in via the event picker.
If you do not belong to a Thuringian university, you can create a new account on the Virtual Campus Thuringia.
You can register for the Workshop "Mission and vision for teaching" on the Congeno event portal.
Is it possible to take part without registering?
You can attend most of the events such as the opening event, the panel discussion, the MitMachBar and the teaching award ceremony without registering.
Depending on the number of participants, we can offer spontaneous participation in the workshops.
Can I participate if I am not a university member in Weimar or Nordhausen?
Yes, with the exception of individual workshops, participation is also possible for guests who do not belong to Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences or the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
If you belong to another university in Thuringia, you can register for the Day of Teaching and Learning via Shibboleth in the Virtual Campus Thuringia. If you are a guest who does not belong to any university in Thuringia, you can create a new account in the Virtual Campus Thuringia to register.

Is participation free of charge?
Yes, participation in all events and workshops in Weimar, Nordhausen and online is free of charge for you.
Are the rooms accessible?
All event locations are wheelchair-accessible and have an accessible toilet.
If we can remove any other barriers to enable you to participate, please contact our coordination team and let us know your requirements.
Are there any breaks included in the schedule?
Yes, there is a break scheduled from 2:00 to 2:30 pm. Depending on the events, there will be further short breaks and a longer break from 3:30 to 4:00 pm.
