Whether it’s in the form of term papers, articles, final theses or factual reports - knowledge and experience are recorded every day in order to be remembered and shared with others. Under the motto »BAUHAUS writes!«, the 5th Long Night of Academic Writing is dedicated to the power and meaning of the written word. Students, doctoral candidates, Bauhaus-Universität employees, and anyone else who is interested in writing are cordially invited to share and exchange experiences on this topic. The event will take the form of mini-workshops, presentations, guided tours, discussion groups and individual consultations. If you need to recharge your batteries, physical exercise sessions, as well as coffee and refreshments, are also provided.

The Author and Bookdesigner Judith Schalansky talks to Dr. Harun Maye (IKKM) about her book »Verzeichnis einiger Verluste«, published in October, which won the Wilhelm Raabe-Literaturpreis 2018 and, just like»Der Hals der Giraffe« (The Neck of the Giraffe), became press and audience favourite.
»Verzeichnis einiger Verluste« deals equally with »searching and finding, losing and winning, and shows that the difference between presence and absence may be marginal as long as memories exist – and that literature makes it possible to experience how close preservation and destruction, loss and creation are to one another.« (published by Suhrkamp Verlag, 2018)
