Interdisciplinary »Equity at Bauhaus« Lecture Series Begins on 10 November

The lecture series aims to foster a sustainable, interdisciplinary dialogue on a diverse, socially just community at the university and around the world. In this context, the series examines topics such as feminist architectural theory, queer feminist ecologies, physical and social obstacles on campus, equality in engineering and decolonising cities. The goal is to establish an open forum where all university members have the opportunity to share their perspectives and to initiate social, political and spatial transformation ideas for living, learning, teaching, research and administration.

Prof.in Dr. Sabine Hark, Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Women's and Gender Studies (ZIFG) at the TU Berlin, will begin the lecture series on Thursday, 10 November 2022. A projection onto the façade of the Kasseturm by artist Tobias Mathes will greet guests to the event.

The »New European Bauhaus Weimar« initiative asks the question of how technology, science, art and design can shape the future together in the face of the global challenges posed by climate change. The »Equity at Bauhaus« lecture series endeavours to complement aesthetic and sustainable ideas with elements of social justice and inclusion.

Introduction to the Lecture Series:
HOW DO WE WANT TO LIVE TOGETHER?

Speaker: Prof.in Dr.in Sabine Hark (TU Berlin) - »Den Geistern folgen. Epistemische Gewalt und die Aufgabe der Kritik?«
Time: 10 November 2022, 6 pm to 7:30 pm
Location: Kasseturm, Goetheplatz 10, 99423 Weimar
Formats: Lecture and Discussion

Additional information on the programme and additional events can be be found at : https://www.uni-weimar.de/de/universitaet/struktur/zentrale-einrichtungen/gleichstellungsbuero/equity-bauhaus/

The »Equity at Bauhaus« interdisciplinary lecture series is organised by the Equal Opportunity Office (Dr.in Isabel Vila Cabanes), the Diversity Department and the Chair of Presentation Methodology in Design (Prof.in Dr.in Mona Mahall) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The series is also offered as a Bauhaus.Module. The events are open to the public and take place primarily in English.
