Im aktuellen Ranking des Centrums für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE) erzielen gleich mehrere Studiengänge der Fakultäten Architektur und Urbanistik sowie Bau- und Umweltingenieurwissenschaften der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar hervorragende Ergebnisse. Insbesondere die allgemeine Studiensituation und Organisation sowie die Unterstützung und Ausstattung der Hochschule wurden von den Studierenden sehr gut bewertet. Veröffentlicht wurden die Ergebnisse im Mai 2025 im ZEIT Studienführer und dem Online-Portal HeyStudium von DIE ZEIT.

Der Thüringer Wald ist Mythos, Lebensraum, Erholungsgebiet und Wirtschaftsfaktor – doch was bleibt davon in Zeiten von Klimakrise, Urbanisierung und demografischem Wandel? Welche Zukunftspfade lassen sich in dieser symbolträchtigen Landschaft im einstigen Grünen Herz Deutschlands entwickeln? Das Projekt »Landschaft im Anthropozän: Thüringer Wald – zwischen Imagination, Ressource und Realität« sucht darauf Antworten und zwar ganz konkret in der Region Masserberg.

The Thuringian Forest is a myth, habitat, recreational area, and economic factor – but how much of it is left in times of climate crisis, urbanisation, and demographic change? What kind of future can be developed in this symbolic landscape in the former Green Heart of Germany? The »Landscape in the Anthropocene: Thuringian Forest - Between Imagination, Resources, and Reality« project is seeking to answer these questions, specifically in the Masserberg region.

The Centre for Higher Education Development’s (CHE) latest ranking recognises several outstanding degree programmes in the Faculties of Architecture and Urbanism as well as Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The general study situation and organisation as well as the university's support and facilities in particular were rated very highly by the students. The results were published in May 2025 in the »ZEIT Studienführer« and DIE ZEIT’s HeyStudium online portal.

What happens when a forest changes? Students from the »PostCompost – Forest Reset« research project are examining the transformation of the Thuringian Forest with instructors Klaus Fritze-Herbst and Christian Doeller. Using artistic and scientific methods, the group is making it possible to understand how nature, landscapes, and habitats are evolving and reshaping themselves.

As part of the artistic research project »PostCompost - Forest Reset«, we welcome Agnes Meyer-Brandis to an artist talk entitled »Have a Tea with a Tree« on Thursday, 15 May 2025 at 4 pm. The lecture is one of the projects funded by the Presidential Board from the »Beyond Now Fund«. Interested parties are cordially invited to the Performance Platform in the Digital Bauhaus Lab.

Career Services invites Bauhaus-Universität Weimar students, graduates, and alumni to the Career Networking Fair at the Mensa am Park on Wednesday, 14 May 2025. The hybrid event will offer numerous opportunities to speak directly to potential employers both in person at the event or beforehand online.

Neben Kurzvorträgen zu den Studiengängen, wird Ihnen die Möglichkeit geboten bei einem gemütlichen Ausklang mit Studiengangleiter*innen und Fachstudienberater*innen ins Gespräch zu kommen, Fragern zu stellen und sich untereinander auszutauschen. Dieses Angebot richtet sich an alle Bachelorstudierenden der Fakultät Bau und Umwelt ab dem 4. Fachsemester.

Rund 850.000 Euro stellt der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) dem englischsprachigen Masterstudiengang »Natural Hazards and Risks in Structural Engineering« (NHRE) an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar zur Verfügung. Bis 2032 fließen die Fördermittel in Vollstipendien für Studierende aus Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländern sowie jährliche Zuschüsse für Tutorien. Im Rahmen des Masterstudiums erwerben die Stipendiaten das technische Know-how für Planung, Bau und Sanierung in Risikogebieten. Nach erfolgreichem Studienabschluss sollen die internationalen Fach- und Führungskräfte das Wissen in ihre Heimatländer tragen und diese nachhaltig weiterentwickeln.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is funding the English-taught »Natural Hazards and Risks in Structural Engineering« (NHRE) Master's degree programme at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar with nearly 850,000 euros. This funding will go towards full scholarships for students from developing and industrialising countries and annual grants for tutorials until 2032. Scholarship recipients acquire the technical skills required for planning, construction, and redeveloping in high-risk areas. Once students have successfully completed the programme, they are expected to bring their knowledge back to their home countries as international experts and contribute to sustainable development.

Two Bauhaus-Universität Weimar student projects have made it to the final of the prestigious RIMOWA Design Prize 2025. The »TONBO« design by Marius Kintzel and Julian Solmsdorff and the »Standalone« design by Tom Kemter and Niels Cremer stood out to the international jury from the numerous entries submitted from across Germany. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 13 May 2025.

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is introducing the »European Urban and Planning Studies« (EUPS) double degree programme taught in English at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism.« Students will have the opportunity to join the EUPS degree programme as part of the established European Urban Studies Master's degree programme, which, upon successful completion, awards students with a double degree from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden.

Im November 2024 war ein Filmteam von ARD Alpha Uni zu Gast an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und dokumentierte den Studienalltag von Stina Amrhein, Master Umweltingenieurwissenschaften. Die Interviewreihe portraitiert verschiedene Ausbildungswege und Berufsgruppen. Im Clip gibt Stina Einblicke in den Studienalltag und berichtet von einer Kooperation mit der Weimarer Stadtwirtschft, welche ihre Linienbusse auf Wasserstoff-Antrieb umrüsten.

On Tuesday, 22 April 2025, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar will be honouring their student volunteers starting at 2 pm. The event will provide an opportunity to engage in conversation in a pleasant and casual atmosphere. Together, we want to celebrate both the close cooperation between the universities’ student bodies and the student commitment, something that is too often overlooked.

The »Materialverteiler« is now open. On 8 April from 4 to 9 pm, those interested can have a look around and drop off or pick up materials. The pilot project, which has been collecting materials since February, offers a central point for students and instructors at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to drop off recyclable materials like cardboard, wood, and foam that can then be passed on free of charge.
