On Monday, 23 January 2023, 7 pm, the Fachkurs »Currywurst ist kein romantisches Gericht« (Curry sausage is not a romantic dish) under the direction of Katrin Steiger invites to its final event. Wie muss eine Stadt aussehen, damit sich Kinder dort gut zurechtfinden und ihr Leben nach ihren Bedürfnissen gestalten können? In Altenburg stellen Urbanistik-Studierende gemeinsam mit den Altenburger Stadtmenschen am 8 Februar 2023, 13 bis 15 Uhr, die Ergebnisse des Forschungsprojektes vor.

Students are invited to present their study projects and work in a wide variety of formats over the course of the three-day event. The Winterwerkschau will be rounded out by information events on studying at the Faculty of Art and Design.

On Friday, 3 February 2023, students from in and around Weimar are invited to discover the Computer Science Bachelor degree programme at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The Computer Science of Media Department is hosting six interactive workshops for the event where participants can explore and learn about current topics in research and teaching in the Faculty of Media’s labs. The »Schnuppertag« will take place from 9 am to 1 pm on the Faculty of Media’s new temporary campus at Schwanseestraße 143.

Am 11. Januar 2023 überreichte Ingo Weber vom Bauindustrieverband Hessen-Thüringen neue Schutzausrüstung an Prof. Melzner von der Professur Baubetrieb und Bauverfahren. Insgesamt 50 Helme und Warnwesten sponsert der Verband für die Studierenden der Fakultät Bauingenieurwesen. Eingesetzt wird die Schutzkleidung zukünftig bei Lehrveranstaltungen und Exkursionen auf Baustellen.

In the 2023 summer semester, a new venue will make its debut in Weimar’s art scene: the Freie Kunst’s newly founded »iRRE SPACE« exhibition venue. The venue is currently looking for exhibition concepts from all of the university’s faculties. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, 7 February 2023.

As of Friday, 6 January 2023, Weimar is one playground richer: A new social meeting space in the city centre was unveiled at Obergraben. The »Baukasten« architectural structure was designed by students Helene Sophia Krause and Sophie Littmann as part of their Produktdesign (Product Design) degree programme and realised with support from the Rotary Club Weimar-Bauhaus.

Seit Freitag, 6. Januar 2023, ist die Stadt Weimar um einen neuen Spielraum reicher: Am Obergraben konnte ein neuer sozialer Begegnungsort in der Innenstadt eröffnet werden. Die dort befindliche Architektur »Baukasten« wurde im Studiengang Produktdesign von den Studentinnen Helene Sophia Krause und Sophie Littmann entworfen und mit Unterstützung des Rotary Club Weimar-Bauhaus realisiert.

To mark this anniversary, the project »Listening to the World - 100 Years of Radio« has now been launched as a cooperation between the Professorship »Experimental Radio« at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the Goethe-Institut, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures).

Bis Ende März 2023 zeigt die Fakultät Architektur und Urbanistik ausgewählte studentische Modelle für einen Teepavillon im Herrenhaus des Landgut Holzdorf. Die Entwürfe stellen einen gestalterischen und funktionellen Bezug zu dem kulturhistorisch sehr wertvollen Ort her und eröffnen Perspektiven für eine Wiederbelebung und weitere Entwicklung des Ortes, der in diesem Jahr den Sonderpreis der Historischen Kommission für Thüringen erhalten hat.

For the registration it is not yet important that the work is finished. A rough description of your project and the planned exhibits is sufficient.

On Monday, 28 November 2022, 7 p.m., the next presentation at the temporary room installation »An Introspective Monument« by Till Röttjer will start. Ioannis Oriwol presents his light installation "No one can hear you scream". The exhibition can be visited in the Fine Art Hall behind the VdV until 3 December.

Unter dem Motto »WISSEN.MACHT.ZUKUNFT« erhielten die Besucher*innen von 18 bis 24 Uhr Einblicke in aktuelle Forschung und Antworten auf komplexe Fragen.

At an invitation from the United Nations (UN), Weimar students will be presenting their ideas for sustainable textile use at the COP27 in Egypt on 11 November 2022. They will discuss with international textile industry retailers and manufacturers how to optimise the recycling of old clothing. The concepts were developed as part of the interdisciplinary Bauhaus.Module »Textile.Umwelten«, in which the students closely examined, questioned and rethought textile supply chains.

Auf Einladung der Vereinten Nationen (UN) präsentieren Weimarer Studierende am 11. November 2022 auf der COP27 in Ägypten Ideen für einen nachhaltigen Umgang mit Textilien. Im Austausch mit internationalen Händlern und Herstellern der Textilindustrie wird diskutiert, wie das Recycling von Altkleidung optimiert werden kann. Entwickelt wurden die Konzepte im Rahmen des interdisziplinären Bauhaus.Moduls »Textile.Umwelten«, bei dem die Studierenden textile Wertschöpfungsketten grundlegend untersucht, hinterfragt und neu gedacht haben.
