Tollkühne Pilot*innen können auch in diesem Jahr um die Trophäen in den Disziplinen »Style« und »Speed« ringen, wenn sie ihre Gefährte die Windmühlenstraße hinunter lenken.

Bauhaus-Universität Weimar students invite you to the legendary »SpaceKidHeadCup« soapbox race on Wednesday, 1 May 2024. Daredevil drivers can compete for this year's »Style« and »Speed« trophies as they steer their soapboxes down Windmühlenstraße.

Led by the Energy Systems Group at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, a sustainable hydrogen supply system has been developed in the Thuringian town of Apolda for the »Vereinsbrauerei«. On 26 April 2024, interested visitors can check out the hydrogen plants for the first time from 1 to 5 pm. A pop-up exhibition on the premises of the brewery will provide background information on electrolysis and the importance of hydrogen as an energy source. Entrance is free of charge.

Starting at 4 pm on Thursday, 25 April 2024, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be celebrating its student volunteers. All interested university members are invited to this opportunity to talk to each other in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Together we want to celebrate the voluntary engagement of students, something that is often not recognised.

On 17 and 18 April, student from the Medienmanagement (Media Management) Master’s degree programme took part in the »Medientage Mitteldeutschland« (central Germany media days) in Leipzig as part of the »MTM-Pioneers« young talent programme. Together with Prof. Dr. Jutta Emes (Professorship of Marketing and Media), Jr. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Rösch and Maxi Rauch (scientific employee in the Junior Professorship of Digital Economies), and Dr. Gianna Ehrlich (Deputy Director of the Junior Professorship for Organisation and Networked Media) attended the exciting panel discussions on topics such as AI, fake news and public broadcasting on both days of the event.

Mit einer Open-Air-Ausstellung und begleitenden Gastvorträgen rückt die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar im Sommersemester 2024 die Leistungen weiblicher Führungskräfte im Ingenieurwesen in den Fokus. Gezeigt werden 18 Portraits von erfolgreichen Bauingenieurinnen, die vor allem Frauen ermutigen sollen, eine Ingenieurslaufbahn einzuschlagen. Zur Vernissage am 25. April ist die Ingenieurin Agnes Weilandt zu Gast und referiert über die spannende Frage: Wie wollen wir zukünftig planen und bauen?

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be focussing on the achievements of female leaders in engineering during the 2024 summer semester with an outdoor exhibition and accompanying guest lectures. 18 portraits of successful female engineers will be on display with the intention of inspiring women in particular to pursue a career in engineering. Engineer Agnes Weilandt will be giving a guest lecture at the vernissage on 25 April and examining the exciting question: »How do we want to plan and build in the future?«

More than 30 university members attended the event hosted by Vice President for Social Transformation Dr. Ulrike Kuch: At the »Demokratie stärken« kick-off networking meeting, attendees discussed project plans, developed ideas and established new contacts.

Vom 18. bis 19. April 2024 veranstaltet das bauhaus.institut für experimentelle Architektur (bauhaus.ifex) das XXIV. Modellprojekteforum »Reflective Urban Practice«. 17 Studierende und acht Praxispartner des internationalen Masterstudiengangs »Integrated Urban Development and Design« (IUDD) stellen an zwei Tagen aktuelle Projekte der Stadtentwicklung aus Praxis und Forschung im Oberlichtsaal der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar vor.

At the beginning of the summer semester, representatives of the »Medea Lab« of the School of Arts and Communication at Malmö University will visit the Faculty of Art and Design. At the invitation of the Professorship »Acoustic Ecologies and Sound Studies«, a presentation evening with an exchange of ideas on the research project »Tender Time« will take place on Tuesday, 16 April at 7 pm, to which interested parties are cordially invited.
