During this year’s Open Campus Day (»HIT«) on Saturday, 3 June 2023, prospective students can explore the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar campus between 9 am and 3 pm. Vom 6. bis 8. Juli 2023 laden die Professur »Philosophie und Ästhetik« und das Graduiertenkolleg Medienanthropologie (GRAMA) in Kooperation mit der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ästhetik zur Fachtagung »Die Frage des Prekären zwischen Kontingenz und Medialität« nach Weimar.

Die Neuerscheinung »A Room with a View« wird in zwei Buchpräsentationen vorgestellt: am 21. Mai 2023 in Venedig und am 7. Juni 2023 in Weimar.

Unter dem Motto »Poesie ist Tanz« erkunden internationale Filmemacher*innen am 19. und 20. Mai 2023 in Weimar die Verbindung von Tanz, Film und Gedicht. Im Rahmen der »Poetryfilmtage«, dem von der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und der Literarischen Gesellschaft Thüringen (LGT) veranstalteten Kurzfilmfestival für Poesiefilme und Videopoetry, werden auch die drei Filmpreise verliehen.

Under the title »no one belongs here more than you«, the university gallery of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar presents the second part of its exhibition series on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first Bauhaus exhibition in Weimar’s Schiller Museum. Die Filmreihe »Wohnen« ist eine gemeinsame Veranstaltungsreihe der Dozentur für Film- und Medienwissenschaft an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, der Klassik Stiftung Weimar und dem Lichthaus Kino anlässlich des Jubiläumsprogramms zur ersten großen Bauhaus-Ausstellung vor 100 Jahren.

Bei der diesjährigen Langen Nacht der Museen öffnen Weimarer Museen, Galerien, Archive und Kirchen am Samstag, 13. Mai 2023, von 18 bis 24 Uhr für Besucher*innen ihre Türen. Auch die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar ist an drei Standorten mit Vorträgen sowie speziellen Führungen dabei, die ganz im Zeichen des Jubiläums »100 Jahre Bauhaus-Ausstellung« stehen.

In 2023, Climate Alliance, which is the largest European city network dedicated to climate protection, is once again calling on municipalities and their inhabitants to cycle as many kilometres as possible for three weeks between May and September to help support climate protection and promote cycling. Weimar will participate in CITY CYCLING from 26 May to 15 June 2023. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will take part for the second time and warmly invites all members of the university to join its team.

Eine Veranstaltungsreihe an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar beschäftigt sich im Sommersemester 2023 mit der Geschichte der Hochschule für Architektur und Bauwesen (HAB). In vier Erzählcafés, die in Kooperation mit der Oral-History-Forschungsstelle der Universität Erfurt stattfinden, berichten Zeitzeug*innen von ihrer Studienzeit in der DDR.

The continuation of the »Equity at Bauhaus« lecture series kicks off in the 2023 summer semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and will delve deeper into Media Studies. Speakers will question media and digitalisation from the perspectives of environmental justice and feminism, queer theory, equal opportunity and diversity. The event is part of the »New European Bauhaus Weimar« initiative.

100 years after the first Bauhaus Exhibition, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is providing support for public student projects through the »23:ideas Fund«. On the next two Thursdays, 4 and 11 May, the anniversary year’s coordinator, Thomas Apel, will be hosting information events at 6 pm (German) and at 7 pm (English) in the Bauhaus.Atelier and will also be advising interested students.

On Wednesday, 31 May 2023, the Equal Opportunity Office and the Department of Human Resources Development and Health Management invite you to attend Family Day on university campus. Whilst the wide-ranging informational and entertainment programme is intended to appeal to all members and affiliates of the University, we wish to show our special appreciation for students, doctoral candidates and staff – particularly those with children or care responsibilities. Staff, in consultation with their respective superiors, can claim time spent at Family Day as working time; in this way we hope to ensure all staff have the opportunity to participate in the Family Day.

Starting at 6 pm on Thursday, 11 May 2023, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will for the first time be celebrating its student volunteers for an entire evening, offering all interested members of the university the opportunity to talk to each other in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Together we want to celebrate the voluntary engagement of students, something that is often not recognised.

Die Professur Entwerfen und Wohnungsbau lädt am 3. Mai 2023, 20.00 Uhr, zur Vorführung des Dokumentarfilms »Robin Hood Gardens« ein. Der englischsprachige Film wird mit deutschen Untertiteln gezeigt.

Erstmals haben die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und die Klassik Stiftung Weimar gemeinsam einen Parlamentarischen Abend ausgerichtet und hatten am 26. April 2023 Parlamentarier*innen und andere Gäste aus Thüringen eingeladen, um mit mit ihnen die Fragen »Wie wollen wir leben?« und »Wie wollen wir wohnen?« zu diskutieren. Den atmosphärischen und abwechslungsreichen Abend mit vielen interessanten Gesprächen und Begegnungen hat der Fotograf Thomas Müller für uns festgehalten.
