Empowering Women in the Startup Scene: Startup Hub »neudeli« Receives Federal Funding
The Startup Hub »neudeli« has been the central point for those interested in starting their own business since 2001. The Hub has recently secured funding through the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action’s (BMWK) »EXIST-Women« programme. neudeli will be receiving up to 105,000 euros, as well as the opportunity to provide women founders with scholarships through the neudeli »empowHER« programme.
The BMWK is expanding their »EXIST-Startup« funding through the »EXIST-Women« programme, which aims to specifically support women founders from the university community and to establish incentives for them to achieve entrepreneurial independence. Support will be provided for the pre-startup phase, in particular identifying and developing ideas, the team-building phase, and identifying funding and financing possibilities.
Startup workshop employees have designed a 12-month programme called »neudeli empowHER« for the application to »EXIST-Women« funding. This offers aspiring women founders a 2,000 euro materials budget, access to experienced mentors, coaching sessions and workshops, as well as a »Female Founders Retreat Weekend«, which will thoroughly prepare participants and establish a Thruingian network of women founders. Through funding from »EXIST-Women« neudeli also has the opportunity to award three scholarships of up to 3,000 euros per month to help secure recipients’ living expenses. »We are extremely excited to receive this funding! The Start-up Hub success stories prove that great ideas are not bound by gender, and now we can provide even more specific support through neudeli ›empowHER‹«, explains Miriam Köble, Start-up Hub »neudeli« employee and programme director.
Those interested in applying for neudeli »empowHER« funding can submit their applications until 19 November 2023. The programme is targeted at women who are in some way connected to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Current and former employees, students and alumni, and aspiring women founders looking to be part of a university startup team are all eligible. A digital information session on the scope and conditions of the funding will be held on 6 November 2023 at 3 pm.
