Call for Donations – Emergency Fund for Students and Academics from Crisis Regions
In direct cooperation with the University Directorate and the International Office, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Freundeskreis e.V. is appealing for donations.

Call for Donations
Financial aid for students and scientists from crisis areas and war-afflicted countries: Donations will be used for one-time payments or scholarships to support students, doctoral candidates and scientists who are in financial need due to situations in their home countries.
Background
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is an international university — peace and respect for international law are prerequisites for unrestricted, creative research and teaching together with partner universities and cooperation partners around the world. The University Presidium stated: »We stand together in absolute solidarity with our Ukrainian neighbours in Europe and with our colleagues in academia there. We strongly condemn the Russian attack on Ukraine and appeal to the Russian government to stop the war immediately.«
An uncomplicated application form allows a joint committee of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Freundeskreis to decide on funding within just a few days. This way, donations raised can reach the students, doctoral candidates and scientists quickly and directly.

Your donation will be primarily used for students, doctoral candidates and scientists in need from current crisis areas worldwide.
For donations of up to EUR 200, the bank statement, cash deposit slip, bank transfer slip or direct debit slip is sufficient proof to claim the donation on your taxes. For donations of EUR 200.01 or more, we will be happy to send you a donation receipt. Please send us an e-mail with your postal address and the subject line »Spendenbescheinigung«.

Applications for funding can be submitted effective immediately. Be sure to include the following information in the informal application:
- Your connection to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar,
- your current situation and
- how long you expect to need financial aid (longer-term support through scholarships will be considered).
