Beschreibung: The Cold War wasn’t limited to military technology and the high-tech sector where it displayed as the nuclear arms race and the space race to the moon but reached far beyond and into the fields of the arts and humanities. Here, military, secret and cultural intelligence converged into a more or less subtle propaganda war against the communist ideology, sponsored and subsidized by the CIA and CIA related foundations. The seminar aims at a critical analysis of this intricate entanglement by way of historical studies, archival material as well as exemplary case studies.
