Internationality

Internationality

By including our international scientific partners it is possible to create a modern, efficient and international study and research proposal. To support the accomplishment of this goal subprojects, which build on international expertise of the scientists involved, were brought together for the applied research training group. The individual subprojects contain several of the mentioned respective branches mathematics, mechanics, computer science, material science, geotechnic etc..

Both, the development of the scientific fundamentals in the analysis of structural specific problems as well as the determination of the design standards, show that these functions have a high priority.. Furthermore these functions are exceptionally important for creating design standards.

Internationally, essential work is particularly found for the assessment of the complexity of planning design standards. These works however, lack the reference to the model qualities and the coupling between analysis and synthesis methods and the regulations derived from these for the evaluation of the reliability of buildings.

An obligatory six months research period at the international partner facilities is an integral part of the post graduate programme for all of the PHD students.. This promotes the merging of an international research network from universities and research centers.

The close involvement of international partners is an essential component of the post graduate programme within the framework of both the research (utilization of the research potential at the respective partner facilities, supervision of the doctorate work, co-report in the respective procedures) and the syllabus (contribution to the lectures in the form of compact courses and seminars). Regular meetings of the respective working groups take place to integrate the international partners. The invitation of the select international facilities was carried out under the following aspects:

  • The scientists involved, complete the profile of the applicants by their outstanding individual research competence.
  • Successful cooperation already exists.
  • The select partner facilities have extensive experience of their own in the context of the postgraduate training
