Science Camp »Structural Soundscapes«

Starting with a warm welcoming by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lars Abrahamczyk, students from four different universities in Thuringia and different study programs came together at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Participants got an introduction to structural dynamics (by Dr. Thomas Most) and to natural hazards (guest lecturer Dr. Tariq Masood); as well as the chance to know each other at an ice-break meeting.

For the following days the participants will learn about the identification of dynamic properties and vibrations by assembling a simple aluminum structure, for a later instrumentation and sensor allocation to experiment with sonification, shaking table test and digital twins. Guest lectures during the first week include the visit from Assist Prof. Angela Poposka (IZIIS – North Macedonia) with Shaking table tests lecture Scaling & Model Updating; the visit from Prof. Thomas Sattel (TU Ilmenau) and the lecture by Matthias Ernst from Dassault Systemes.

The Science Camp is made possible through the support of the Allianz Thüringer Ingenieurwissenschaften.
