IKI-Tag 2026

On 24 June 2026, the annual summer party incl. research colloquium of the Institute of Structural Engineering (IKI) took place at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The Chair of Advanced Structures contributed with a talk by M.Sc. Aanis Uzair.

In his presentation, “Seismic Analysis of Cultural Heritage Buildings using Finite Element Model Updating,” he introduced a methodological framework for the seismic assessment of historic structures. The study focused on calibrating finite element models using dynamic parameters to represent material properties, boundary conditions, and modal responses with improved accuracy. The objective is to develop a validated numerical model for estimating seismic demand and quantifying structural capacity within a probabilistic assessment framewok.
