Video workshop

In the video workshop, students work artistically and creatively with moving electronic images. They develop cinematic and experimental formats and implement their ideas using professional recording and presentation technology.

Studio work

On the first floor of the video workshop is an 80-square-metre video studio with a control room, fully equipped for a wide range of productions.

The studio equipment includes:

  • Two studio cameras for HD and 4K recordings
  • Recording in H264 and Apple ProRes
  • Console-controlled, movable ceiling lighting system
  • Large-format green-screen wall
  • Control room with appropriate equipment
  • Voiceover booth for sound recordings
  • 4K projector with playback devices
  • 5.1 audio system
  • Variable audio and video cabling

This technology can be used to implement editorial, narrative and experimental projects.

Post-production

Seven Apple editing suites are available for post-production. Here, students edit HD, 4K and 8K material.

The editing suites are equipped with the following software:

  • Final Cut Pro
  • Adobe Premiere
  • DaVinci Resolve
  • After Effects
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • InDesign
  • Audition
  • Pro Tools

Lending equipment

The video workshop offers a wide range of recording and presentation equipment for loan.

Among other things, the following are available:

  • Video cameras in HD and 4K formats
  • Sound recording devices
  • Microphones
  • Tripods
  • Lighting equipment
  • Monitors and projectors
  • Extensive accessories

Working in a study context

In the video workshop, students create short films, animations, experimental films, feature films, documentaries, music videos and video installations. They plan shoots, develop image and sound concepts and implement their projects independently. The studio and editing suites are also available outside regular opening hours.

Technical support

Andrea Carrà, graduate designer (FH) in communication design, supervises the work in the video workshop. He advises on technical implementation, introduces students to studio and editing technology, and supports them in planning and realising their projects.
