Dear students and members of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar,
The 2021/22 winter semester examination period begins in just a few days. With this e-mail, we wish to inform you on the general conditions for examinations.
As was the case in the past, some examinations will be carried out as in-person events. In order to conduct examinations as safely as possible and in order to adhere to the required distancing regulations as in previous semesters, the university will be making use of the Falkenburg Sporthalle.
The current schedule for examinations in centrally administered rooms (Audimax, Marienstraße and Coudraysraße lecture halls) can be found in the FAQs for students.
We recommend that you check the examination schedule on a daily basis, since exam dates may still be changed at short notice. Information on examinations that are set to take place on campus will be communicated to you as usual by the respective instructor, e.g. via Moodle or BISON.
If you are taking an exam on campus, it is important that you bring a medical mask (MNS), OP or FFP2 mask, which must also be worn when walking around and taking your seat. In order to increase the level of protection for yourself and others, we recommend that you wear an FFP2 mask. Be sure to have your proof of 3G (vaccinated, recovered, or tested) with you. This will be checked before you enter the examination room. Be sure to check the latest regulations on vaccinated and recovered status here.
The distancing and hygiene regulations stipulated in the Basic Hygiene Plan apply. These can also be found in the FAQs. In order to minimize the risk of infection, we ask that you disinfect your seat (table and chair) with the wipes provided after completing your exam.
To further prevent the spread of infection during in-person examinations, we recommend that you test yourself (either rapid test or self-test) before the examination, regardless of your vaccination or recovery status. If you are unable to participate in an examination at short notice due to a positive (rapid/self) test, please report this to your instructor or examination office. You will not be penalised for this. The same applies if you do not participate in an in-person examination as a precaution after contact with an infected individual.

1. Guidelines for In-Person Examinations
2. Examination schedule for centrally-administered rooms and the Sporthalle Falkenburg

By acting considerately, you are helping to make the examination period as safe as possible for everyone, and we thank you for this.
We wish you all the best on your upcoming examinations and a successful end of the semester.
Sincerely,
Christian Koch
