About Alex Schweder:
Dr. Alex Schweder coined the term ›Performance Architecture‹ to describe the inflatables, occupied structures, and domestic renovations that focus on subjectivity rather than materiality resulting from his creative practice. His works have been collected and exhibited internationally including the Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Performa 17, The Tel Aviv Art Museum, and the Tate Britain. Schweder’s work has been funded by the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, The Graham Foundation, and Kulturstiftung des Bundes among others. Schweder is an American Academy in Rome Fellow, holds a doctorate in architecture from the University of Cambridge and a masters in architecture from Princeton University. He has been a professor of design and architecture at Pratt Institute since 2012.
