Leila Keivan, Absolventin des Studiengangs »Public Art and New Artistic Strategies« an der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung, hat eines der Thüringer Landesstipendien für Bildende Kunst erhalten. Das mit 10.000 Euro dotierte Stipendium ermöglicht ihr, ein künstlerisches Forschungsprojekt zu Heimat, Erinnerung und Zugehörigkeit umzusetzen.

Marie Kurstjens has won the 2026 German Design Award in the »Newcomer of the Year« category. The award is accompanied with 15,000 euros in prize money. The jury commended her understanding of design as a collaborative process for solving social and humanitarian challenges. She received the award for her Bachelor's thesis »COOK/ABILITY« at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and her Master's thesis »Designing Dignity« at the Universität der Künste Berlin.

Wir gratulieren: Lena Libertà, Alumna der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung, ist mit dem Deutschen Drehbuchpreis 2026 ausgezeichnet worden. Die Verleihung fand am Freitag, 13. Februar 2026, im Rahmen der Berlinale beim Empfang des Deutschen Drehbuchverbands in Berlin statt.

Guido Wolter, visual effects supervisor, has been nominated for an Oscar for his work on the Hollywood film »Sinners«. Wolter studied Media Design at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar from 2000 to 2006. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, 15 March 2026, in Los Angeles. We're keeping our fingers crossed!

Anya Ryzhkova, Master's student in Media Art and Design, will be celebrating the première of her graduation film project, »vremya fewral’ / STILL FEBRUARY«, on Wednesday 21 January 2026 in the short film competition of the Max Ophuels Film Festival. For the first time, animated films are officially eligible to compete in the Film Festival.
