For the 11th time, the Careers Service of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar organized a career day, which this year not only offered an extensive series of lectures but also a program tailored to international students. On May 16, 2018 between 10 am and 3 pm, students and graduates were able to get in touch with company representatives from the fields of architecture and urban planning, civil engineering, computer science and media, media studies and design as well as cultural and creative industries. A total of 62 exhibitors from regional and international companies took part of the annual Career Fair, which took place in the foyer of Mensa am Park as well as in the inner courtyard of Marienstraße 15.
In multiple workshops and lectures not only career opportunities in different companies and industries we presented, but visitors and Career Fair participants also could inform themselves about topics such as subtle salary negotiation, the development of a personal profile as a designer as well as basic knowledge of freelance work. Furthermore, the themed series “After the Study” aimed at international students and informed, among other things, about the social system in Germany or job search and visa regulations.
