The BAUHAUS-POSTDOC-STIPENDIUM is intended to enable outstanding researchers who have completed their doctorates at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to advance their university careers through a new research project. With this scholarship, the University promotes innovative ideas that take up and complement the research priorities of the faculties.
Who is eligible to apply?
Outstanding researchers who have completed their doctorate at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar with excellent results are eligible to apply. The post-doc project must demonstrate that it is compatible with the existing research priorities of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and at the same time shoudl enrich them sustainably and with an original approach. At present, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar supports postdoctoral researchers within the following scholarship format:
Scholarship period
The call is open now; the deadline for 2021/2022 ends on 31st of January 2021.
The funding period generally begins in April.
Funding
2.000 euros per month / usually 12 months
Extensions are possible in exceptional cases according to available funds.
The doctoral grade must be proven at the time of application for the pre-selection for the 2nd round.
A Bauhaus Post-Doc Scholarship may not be awarded to candidates who are already receiving public funding.
Scholarships may not be awarded to full-time employees. Candidates are allowed, however, to work part-time in research or teaching at a university or non-university research institute for a maximum of 10 hrs. per week or other part-time work for a maximum of 5 hrs. per week (MdU 58/2019).
The funding period generally begins on 1 April.

The awarding committee will make its funding decisions based on the quality, prospects of success and the sustainable impact of the post-doc projects from the point of view of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Furthermore, social aspects can be taken into account for the award decision if they are equally suitable.
