Project description

When we speak of a detail in architecture, when we try to read it, we may initially be impressed, if not overwhelmed, by its complexity. However, such a drawing merely describes the being made of something. This exercise is designed to learn to read such drawings with their conventions, to imitate, to adapt and to gain a first basic understanding of building construction. Furthermore, the discussion of many built examples will promote the realisation that the solution to a problem often does not lie in a singular answer. This is not only incredibly reassuring, but also a challenge and motivation to think for oneself and look for individual solutions against the background of a basic understanding of physics.
