Optimising Business Processes – A project at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
Efficient and digital processes are essential aspects for the future of administration. At the same time, university administration and services, as our administration fittingly calls itself, understands itself as a service provider that is constantly evolving.
Within this context, the four core processes of »Einstellung & Weiterbeschäftigung von Mitarbeitenden«, »Dienst- und Fortbildungsreisen«, »Unterschwellige Beschaffung« and »Vergabe von Dienstleistungen in den Liegenschaften« were recently analysed together with management consulting firm Horváth. Based on over 30 interviews from both inside and outside of administration, strengths as well as the potential for digitalisation of application management, improvements in procurement forms and training materials, as well as travel expenses were recognised. In order to swiftly implement the initial improvement measures, »Quick Wins« were identified and scheduled to begin as soon as early 2023.
The current project status and preliminary results will be presented by the Chancellor and the project team at an information event open to the university public.
