Invitation to the »Student Volunteer Evening« on 11 May
Starting at 6 pm on Thursday, 11 May 2023, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will for the first time be celebrating its student volunteers for an entire evening, offering all interested members of the university the opportunity to talk to each other in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Together we want to celebrate the voluntary engagement of students, something that is often not recognised.
Under the slogan of »Do something and make changes – get involved«, students who are currently involved in committee or volunteer positions in particular are invited to the M18 Garden. The event starts there at 6 pm with speeches by the Presidium and a small thank-you for the current student volunteers. Afterwards, the attendees will be able to talk about their experiences over music, beverages and snacks.
A unique opportunity is offered to all the students who are considering running for the next term: Over the course of the evening, they will be able to learn more about student government and committee work and ask questions in person. What office would suit me? What position would be the right one to get started with? Given the many different committees, it’s sometimes not easy to get a clear idea about or figure out which offices require how much time and effort in addition to your studies. Fellow students who already hold an office would be happy to share their experiences and provide tips on how new volunteers can best get started in a committee.
They are all motivated by one thing above all: the experience of actively participating in the development of their »Bauhaus Uni« by working together with other students to make a difference and ensure that the students’ voices are heard.
