So you’ve completed your studies, now what? - 12th career networking fair at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
On Wednesday 15 May 2019 students and alumni as well as anyone else interested in attending have the opportunity at the Weimar Career Fair to meet with potential companies for work experience and employment, and take a further step on their career path. 75 exhibitors will be presenting from 10am to 3pm at Mensa am Park and in the adjacent inner courtyard.
The topics covered in the series of presentations range from pay negotiations and basic knowledge for self-employment through to application tips for international students. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar career networking helps establishes a forum for exchange with students as well as company representations and practitioners from science and business. The fair will be rounded off with a diverse programme of presentations on professional orientation, starting out on the career ladder and business start-ups with representatives from the business branches of civil engineering, architecture, media, cultural management as well as art and design. The aim of this event is to show students and alumni the various career opportunities after a degree at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar as well as current developments on the job market.
»With the career day we aim to build a bridge between the university and the economy. The annual fair provides the opportunity to ask questions directly to HR managers about starting out in the world of work as well as development prospects in particular careers, work experience and application processes. It is best to start thinking about your career path during your studies and to start building networks - and we create space for this with the fair«, explains Luise Lubk, project lead for Career Services of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Visitors to the fair can also get advice from neudeli, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar Startup Hub, on questions about business start-ups. At the fair there will also be a chance to find out about further study options at Master or PhD level as well as work experience and study abroad opportunities.
A total of eleven supporting workshops and presentations will provide students and other interested persons about tactics for self-promotion in applications, for example. International students can get information on the social system in Germany in the »Aspects of residence permit – Internship and jobseeking – how to navigate« presentation.
