Das Performance Kollektiv »Material Girls« eröffnet am Dienstag. 24. Oktober 2023, 19.30 Uhr, sein zweites Spielfeld – dieses Mal im M BOOKS Space in der Marktstraße 16. In der Fortsetzung der performativ ausgerichteten Veranstaltungsreihe setzen sich bis Samstag, 28. Oktober 2023, die Material Girls Stella Dragovic, Cora Groos, Celine Loesche mit den Materialien Sand, Wasser und Gips auseinander. Zu weiteren Performances sind die Künstler*innen Tobias Gassert, Eva Girzalsky, Marie Salcedo Horn, (Anne)-Fleur Ising und Diana Karle eingeladen.

Bis 25. Oktober 2023 können sich Interessierte zur Jahrestagung des Graduiertenkollegs anmelden, die am 23. und 24. November 2023 unter dem Titel »WITH/OUT IDENTITY. Zur Frage von Identitätskonstruktionen in Raum, Erbe und Communities« steht. Eine Teilnahme ist sowohl in Präsenz an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar als auch digital möglich.

Am 27. Oktober, 15 Uhr, eröffnet die Ausstellung »Song of Myself – buchkünstlerische Positionen 1923 und 2023« in der Universitätsbibliothek. Dabei wird eine besondere Ausgabe des seltenen Gedichtzyklus’ ausgestellt. Zudem haben Studierende der Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle die originalen Druckbögen in ein zeitgemäßes Design überführt.

September 2023, wurde die fünfte und damit letzte Episode der Ausstellungsreihe »POWER HOUSE«, die anlässlich des 100-jährigen Jubiläums der ersten Bauhaus-Ausstellung im Schiller-Museum Weimar stattfindet, eröffnet. Der Fotograf Jannis Uffrecht war dabei und hat die tolle Atmosphäre in Bildern eingefangen.
